User research recruitment at scale.
I made IBM’s external facing user research recruitment site.
The Problem:
Lack of research participants forced employees researchers to dig through different tools to find and manage participants, dramatically slowing down team velocity. 🫤

Process
Early prototyping
The more people involved, the longer it often takes to get things moving. That’s why “a prototype is worth a thousand meetings.” I managed a designer and multiple stakeholders to get a prototype approved in under 1 month.
Stakeholder alignment
Perhaps the most challenging part of this whole endeavor. There are MANY people who need to sign off any external facing web pages for IBM. I had to proactively work with branding, legal, and our director of User Research to ensure everything was compliant and on spec.
Approval persistence
Getting a primary URL at a large company requires working with a dedicated team that includes legal sign-off and approval. Keeping this moving forward required persistent follow-ups and good rapport.
